Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Welcome to AC Virtual we are a new virtual airline and we are excited to virtually fly for Canada's flagship airline. Though we are not affiliated to the airline or their affiliates we have a certain responsibility to make sure we keep ourselves on the up and up and not give a bad name to the airline. So we have some rules to follow as a virtual airline.
1. Do not use the name of "Air Canada" - Air Canada has requested that VA's do not use the actual name of Air Canada. As such we will always be referred to as AC Virtual as apposed to Air Canada Virtual.
2. Minimum Age - We only allow pilots that are 16 years of age or older. Any pilot found to be under 16 will be removed from our roster immediately.
3. No Use Of Foul Language - We have people from all walks of life and people dealing with different things in their lives. We here at AC Virtual will not accept any form of language that puts any member of this airline down including but not limited to Racism, Sexual Preference, Religious Preference, Medical, or anything else that may make any of our members feel uncomfortable. Any members found doing any of these things will be warned first and if these acts persist member will be removed.
4. Activity - We ask all pilot's make at least two (2) flights per month to remain active. If a pilot needs a leave of absence for any reason please ask a staff member and they will assist you as much as possible. New pilots must make their inaugural flights within 14 days (2 weeks) to remain active.
5. Payware Aircraft - You can choose to replace the aircraft on a route with a payware aircraft of your choosing. You must remember to follow 2 short rules.
A) - The aircraft must be at least realistic don't use a 777 to fly from Toronto to Buffalo. Likewise don't use your A319 to fly from Toronto to Paris.
B) If you are using a smaller aircraft than the route calls for (Replacing a 777 with a 767 for instance) remember that the 767 doesn't have as much cargo room as the 777 so don't load a full cargo for the 767.
6. VATSIM - VATSIM is a great community of flying enthusiasts that fly with one another while having live versions of ATC assisting them as much as possible. Their are certain rules that are to be utilized while on the VATSIM Network. For their code of conduct go to www.vatsim.net/documents/code-of-conduct
7. Previous Hours - We have decided that because all pilots will not have any restrictions to aircraft that no hours will be allowed to be brought to AC Virtual. The hours you fly will be with this airline only.
